summer project

I did everything from drawing the blueprints to pouring the concrete footings. The door initially opened directly on to the staircase, which I simply removed, and then reattached after the deck was finished. Took about 2 weeks (half of which was shopping time, and waiting for the concrete to dry), and cost just under $2000 (not including materials)

    Nice job! Was it the first that you worked on that kind of project or did you have previous experience?

      That was the first.

      My prior carpentry has been limited to making closet shelves, a bed frame, a worm composting box, and a few raised bed planters, none of which required any kind of research, design, or metal brackets, they were just cut and screw.
